Research: The Importance Of Opening titles

 The Task
Opening titles in a film is an introduction towards the audience so they know: Who made it, who starred in it and who provided the money for the film itself. There are many many types of opening titles in a film nowadays with all the technology we have, dating back to the 30's film titles were made with just a chalk board with minimum information. These days we have technology to make short animations to create a short mini film before the film actually starts, a commonly used software is adobe after effects because it's extremely powerful and was released in 1993.  It's very powerful for creating animations which you can't do without a computer. Opening titles can vary a lot, this is because every film has it certain genre, two I can clearly identify is Captain America and Deadpool, both produced by marvel however because Deadpool was supposed to be a comedy superhero the opening title was very comedic and they named the characters and actors funnily and had less information than what Captain America had, for example Captain America had:

costume design by

Here is the opening title for Captain America, it all seems a lot more sophisticated in what Deadpool's opening scene had to offer:

All very sophisticated from Captain America because it's a very much an action film with short bits that are funny, however Deadpool is mainly all funny, it's  cool and funny, I compared opening titles on a website called Art of the Title.com, which gave me a variety of movie opening titles so I could do some research on it:

What should happen before the film starts it should come up with the distribution company, and then the production company along with who created it and who's in it.

Opening titles can come across as anything, for example depending on the type of film it would be in that set genre, a horror film such as the conjuring is supposed to freak the audience out and be a bit creepy at the beginning of the film so the audience know it's a horror film.

Whereas films which is more comedy based would be upbeat and funny to engage the audience for a laugh as that is there aim. A huge difference between Comedy and Horror so the production tend to make the opening titles funny or creepy.
